The carrot is a biennial plant. So the root grows in the first year. In the second year, it gives flowers and seeds. Carrots are full of Vitamins like C, E, K, B1, B2, B3, B6 and B9. But the most important thing we get from carrots is beta-carotene, equivalent to vitamin A in high quantity. It grows all over the world. The famous food of India Gajar Ka Halwa (carrot halwa) is prepared from carrots. Carrots are also used to make salad and chutney.
