A Rainy Day

It was the first day of July last year. The patter of rain on the window pane broke my sleep. The sky was covered with dark clouds. It looked like an evening in the morning. It was raining in torrents. I understood the rain would not stop soon. I was right. The whole day it rained and rained. Sometimes it rained heavily. Sometimes it drizzled. I thought, there were thousands of leaks in the sky. I did not go to school. The street looked like a pool. I read a Feluda story. The rain abated in the afternoon. Pearls of raindrops on leaves looked lovely. The rain-bathed afternoon appeared beautiful. I enjoyed it.
