One day two friends were passing through a forest. Suddenly they saw a bear at a little distance. One of them at once climbed up a tree. The other did not know how to climb. But he knew a bear wouldn’t touch a dead body. So he lay down on the ground. He held his breath to look like a dead man. The bear smelt him all over. It thought him to be dead and went away. Then the friend on the tree came down. “Friend, what did the bear whisper into your ear?” he said. The other replied, “It advised me not to trust a false friend.”
Moral: A friend in need is a friend indeed.
TWO FRIENDS AND A BEAR STORY Set 2
One day two friends were walking through a forest. They were going to town together. In that forest, there were wild animals. Suddenly, they saw a bear coming. One friend hurriedly climbed up a tree by the side of the path through the forest. The other friend did not know how to climb up a tree. He lay on the ground flat like a dead man. He knew that a bear would not touch a dead man. The bear came to him. He smelled the man and went away. The selfish friend came down from the tree when the bear had gone. “What did the bear whisper to your cars ?” he enquired of his friend. He replied: “The bear told me not to trust a friend who leaves you in danger”
Moral: A friend in need is a friend indeed.
